Volume & Root LiftHair Types
Thick, Straight Hair
Heavy, dense strands with little natural bend — strong, but prone to collapsing into a flat sheet.
Thick, straight hair has plenty of material and almost no natural structure. Each strand is heavy, and because it is straight there is nothing to hold neighbouring strands apart, so the whole mass tends to settle in one direction and stay there.
That combination means the two things you need are direction and separation, set at the root while the hair is drying. Once thick, straight hair has been dried flat, no amount of product will lift it convincingly.
