THE FOUNDER STORY

I didn't start a hair company because I love hair products. I started one because I hate all of mine.

I have the hair a huge number of Asian men have: thick, straight, black, dense. It grows out and down. It sticks out on the sides after a haircut. And no matter how good it looks at 7 AM, by lunch it has collapsed flat against my head.

I spent years cycling through the whole aisle. Wax made my hair heavier, so it fell faster. Pomade looked great for two hours, then turned into a grease slick. Gel held — as a crunchy shell that cracked if I touched it. Sea salt spray did approximately nothing; my hair doesn't do "beachy." Blow dryer routines worked, sort of, if I spent 15 minutes every morning and never went outside in wind.

Then I found hair powders — and honestly, the lift was real. For the first time my hair stood up and stayed matte. One problem: every powder on the market left white-gray dust at my roots. On blond hair, invisible. On black hair, it looks like your scalp is aging in real time.

That's when it clicked: these products were formulated for a default customer, and that customer isn't me. Nobody was engineering for thick, straight, dark hair specifically — the hair type of hundreds of millions of men.

So I built NoonProof. A matte volume powder formulated on dark hair first, so residue was solved before anything else. Lift tuned for heavy, straight strands. A bottle designed like a tool, because a 30-second morning routine deserves better than a parmesan shaker.

I'm not a beauty conglomerate. I'm one guy in the San Gabriel Valley with uncooperative hair and an engineering habit. Every batch gets the same test: styled at 8 AM on my own head, checked at noon, checked at 8 PM. If it doesn't pass on my hair, it doesn't ship to yours.
