Humidity & HoldHair Problems
Humidity and Sweat
Styles that swell, separate or drop the moment the air gets heavy or you start moving.
Humidity does not simply make hair untidy; it changes the hair itself. Water in the air is absorbed into the strand, the strand swells and lengthens slightly, and any shape set while it was dry begins to release. Sweat adds salt and heat at the root, which is why the collapse usually starts at the crown and hairline.
Holding a style in that environment is about sealing the shape rather than stiffening it: dry hair fully, set the root before anything flexible goes on top, and choose a finish that does not soften when it takes on moisture.
The articles here cover both the physics and the practical adjustments for hot, humid or high-effort days.
